Three prayers to pray through out your home.

I absolutely love the changing of seasons. The beautiful things nature does when it is preparing to go into a season of rest is awe inspiring. While we are kicking off new things like a new school year and gearing up for a Holiday Season, nature in this part of the planet is taking a long deep breath and curling up for a long winter’s sleep.

I am gearing up, not for sleep, but for the busy season to come. I am working through my to do list and balancing all the responsibilities that comes with being a working mom. It can feel like a lot, especially when I have to wear several hats all at once. Thankfully as a Christ follower, I know I am not alone and it is not my responsibility to hold all this together.

“It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. our qualifications comes from God.” -2 Corinthians 3:5

God truly does have this in his hands and he is faithful (1 Thessalonians 5:24). The best way to put all the things back in his hands and trust in God’s control is prayer. Here are three prayers to pray over your home along with Bible verses to post in each room.

Prayers for the gathering spaces inspired by 1 Corinthians.

LORD my Lord,

Thank you Lord for my my home, my family and our friends. I pray you fill these spaces with grace and peace. Give us the harmony that comes with your presence. Make us of one mind, united in thought and purpose. Fill our times together with love that is patient and kind not to be jealous or boastful or proud. Help our faith and hope to always be in you that we can endure every circumstance.

Amen

“May God our Father and Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace”. 1 Corinthians 1:3

Prayer for the kitchen and laundry room inspired by Galatians

Father God,

Thank you for all the provisions you provide for my family and myself. As I prepare food for my family and eat with them I know that these are acts of service born out of love. When making dinner and doing laundry feels like drudgery, I pray you remind me that in serving my family, I am serving you. I know I will reap a harvest of blessing if I don’t give up. Let the kitchen and laundry spaces be a place to meet you. Fill these spaces with your Holy Spirit that I might look forward to the times I get with you while my hands are at work. As a result, may my spirit be filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. I pray as my hands work that I meditate on these things building my spirit up to be more like Jesus.

Amen

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23

Prayer for bedrooms with Philippians

Jehovah Shalom,

You LORD are our peace. When we lays our heads on our pillows each night, help our minds to not be anxious. I pray for your peace that transcends understanding to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. I pray for your protection while we rest for us and for our home.

Amen

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God and the peace that transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

Next step is to put the verses and prayers on note cards and tape them up in the rooms I use the prayers. It goes without saying that circumstances are tense these days and we need all they prayer we can get!

Sincerely yours,

Katie
